Accelerated Legion Program
The Accelerated Legion Program is designed for Tier 3 Legions, which have at least 48 members.
Purpose
This program aims to help Legions transition from developing internal leaders to using their structure to create popular games.
Benefits
The Program creates flexibility within Ignite:
- Legions allowed to work together on a single game.
- Thematic Guidelines, section 2 become optional.
- Positive impact requirement becomes optional.
Soon: Special lessons which empower those in the program to make games which will garner a proper audience.
Requirements
Legions will face significant organizational and communication challenges. Therefore, we ask that they share information via two workshops per cycle hosted by their Legion, benefiting other Legions and members of [P1].
Workshops must be recorded and released under the [P1] modified Apache open source license and given to the Ignite Host.
Qualifying
To qualify as an Accelerated Legion, a Legion must:
- Embody [P1] values by prioritizing others' needs
- Follow our game submission process and team division process
- Maintain good standing with our rules and customs.
- Create a Legion which is beloved by its members for strong organization, discipline, and professional standards.

Pitfalls
While the program offers the opportunity to work collaboratively on a game, poor organization can hinder your project. To avoid this, follow these guidelines:
- Create Separation: Divide tasks by having specific teams work on specific separate systems.
- Having teams work on systems which are highly integrated creates too much communication overhead.
- Regular Reintegration: Reintegrate the code on a bi-weekly to maintain cohesion.
- Minimize Communication Overhead: Getting on the same page with a large amount of volunteers is extremely challenging.
We warn you in the strongest possible terms that you must memorize, practice, and repractice the above if you want to avoid the pitfalls of the freedom granted by the Accelerated Legion Program.
FAQ
- Do we have to have the whole Legion work on a single game if we join?
- No, you can use your own discretion to decide which people work on which project.
