[Day 20] Portfolio [Division] [Monday]

Legend

🔹 Whole team's responsibility

🔸 Team leader (or anyone you elect to replace them for the day)'s responsibility.

🥇 Goal: These will help you improvise.
This checklist is detailed, but you can reach the goals using your judgment if you think you can achieve them faster than the checklist suggests.

🟦🟦🟦 Headers, subheaders 1, 2, 3.

🔄 Conditional

🟧🟧🟧 Invites & Lead

🔹 Action: Appoint someone as lead for the meeting if your team leader isn't there. If they are, they should lead. All the orange 🔸points are for them.

🟧🟧🟧 Introduction

🔸Say: Today we will elect a few people in our team to put up their portfolios under our "Top Portfolio" section to help them get hired.

🟧🟧🟧 Elect an MVP

🔸Say: Our first task is to make a list of all team members and their contributions like art and programming.

🔸Say: Our goal is to create a list of five to seven disciplines within our division and to elect the best contributors under each discipline. If there are no more than three contributors within a single discipline, then that discipline should not be considered for this event today.

🔹Make the list together.

Example:

  • Programming
    • John
    • Bob
    • Fred
  • 3D art
    • James
    • Sally
    • Ed

🔸Say: Now we need to run an election to determine who's the best contributor in terms of work quality and attitude on each team.

🔸Action:  Set up a poll with each discipline and all the names using /poll (or discord polls) and vote together.

🔸Celebrate the winners after each poll using the soundboard!

🟧🟧🟧 Uploading Portfolios

🔸Say: Now we're going to work together to help people in our team get jobs in the industry.

🔸Share your screen.

🔸 Visit #hall-of-fame together and read the 3 most recent posts:

🔸Say: About 50% of those who get hired from this community get hired by other people in the community, using this place as a place to find talent.

🟧🟧 Reviewing Great Portfolios

🔸 Set a timer for 5 minutes and have everyone use the 🤩emoji on the portfolio they think is best.

🔸 Ask everyone to explain why they chose the portfolio they did and what made it stand out to them.

🟧🟧 Submitting Portfolios

🔸Say: We only want the most proven members to get hired so that we can create a reputation as a great place for people to hire capable teammates.

🔸Say: In Samuel's experience, attitude and the ability to compromise with a team is just as important to get hired as capability in our work.

🔸 Based on the elected list from earlier, find the people who are T3 and higher who also won your mini election.

🔸 Have them post their portfolio in:

🔸 This should not just be a link, but this should be a post which you all help your teammates craft together, which is going to demonstrate your best work here at [P1].

🔸Say: If we have no T3 members, we will not be able to post our portfolios today unfortunately.

🟧🟧 Breaking Up Into Groups

🔸 If many tier 3 individuals will be posting their portfolios, consider forming groups to ensure the portfolios look incredible. Each group can help their members prepare their portfolios for posting.

🔸 Set a timer and reassemble within the time frame so you can continue the checklist!

🟧🟧 Group Instructions

🔸 Discuss together what should be included in an ideal portfolio for the discipline represented by the person posting it.

🟧🟧 Leaving Feedback

🔸 Once reassembled, everyone should provide feedback on the posted portfolios.
