Normal Operations

Your team should meet daily, and your meeting's agenda will depend on when you joined the competition. Simply visit Team Registration - Next Steps - Guide and keep going where you left off last time.

If There Is No Agenda

On some of the days Team Registration - Next Steps - Guide, no agenda will be listed or the above list will be complete. If that's the case, we recommend asking the three questions that are common in every software company at minimum.

  • What did you do yesterday?
  • What are you doing today?
  • Is anything blocking you?

Note: This checklist is optional but not doing any of it is lazy and if you are to skip any of it you should replace it with your own bespoke traditions.

We have a full checklist of recommended daily practices here. You should modify it as needed even creating day-specific traditions.

🟦🟦🟦 Every Day Checklist

πŸ”Ή Note: You should not need to elect a leader to do something a simple as this checklist. Do it together.

πŸ”Ή Everyone hop on VOICE CHAT and answer these 3 questions starting with the top:

  • What did you do yesterday?
  • What are you doing today?
  • Is anything blocking you?

πŸ”Ή Discuss anything pertinent to the progress of your team.

🟦🟦🟦 Dates & Deadlines

πŸ”ΉOpen this "Process of the Contest" checklist together.

πŸ”ΉDiscover the day you are in on that list.

πŸ”ΉTalk about the dates you see that might be relevant to your team, especially those that highlight days of testing and other important milestones.

πŸ”Ή Plan how you intend to reach those milestones together.

🟦🟦🟦 Add/Update Tasks

πŸ”Ή Open your Kanban board.

πŸ”Ή Go over any pertinent tasks, organizing and updating whatever tasks you find that either need a deadline or don't have someone assigned to them.

🟦🟦🟦 Accountability/Pair Programming

πŸ”Ή Set up at least three accountability or pair programming sessions to accomplish the tasks which have dates on the board.

πŸ”Ή Accountability Sessions

🟦🟦🟦 Accountability Sessions

Accountability sessions are psychological hacks that help you get stuff done and accomplish your goals.

🟦🟦🟦 Taking Action

Have everyone open up the (1/2) Academy Quest system by clicking the Unlock Academy button.

And have that go to Official Quests (3).

Under Official Quests, you should go ahead and click on Accountability Sessions.

🟦🟦🟦 Read the Post Together

Read the post, answer questions together, and see if you can assign at least two people to do an accountability session together.

πŸ”Ή Pair Programming

Have everyone open up the (1/2) Academy Quest system by clicking the Unlock Academy button.

And have that go to Official Quests (3).

Under Official Quests, you should go ahead and click on Pair Programming.

🟦🟦🟦 Discuss the Benefits of Pair Programming

πŸ”Ή Say: Everyone with experience knows the incredible value of working with a team over working alone.
πŸ”Ή Say: Most programmers don't like being social, however this stops them from benefiting from the majority of promotions in their industry and there's no faster way to supercharge your career than to talk with others and to learn from their methods.
πŸ”Ή Say: Our high-level mentors suggest that pair programming is the fastest way to grow your knowledge as a programmer.
πŸ”Ή Say:  Even if the person you are working with is not an expert in programming their unique approach to solving problems will help you think outside the box
πŸ”Ή Say: This will ultimately allow you all to share knowledge/tips with one another & being there to support each other

🟦🟦🟦 Assign People Sessions

πŸ”Ή Say: Now we need to create at least one pair programming connection between team members who will work on a particular task together.

 πŸ”Ή Do so.
